Healthcare

The quality and level of our healthcare system are generally very good: but only when you get in!

For many there are agonisingly long waiting times. Accident and emergency facilities are frequently overloaded. Patients and staff both suffer as a direct result.

The Slaintecare policy was agreed long ago. It proposed the construction of 3 new Elective hospitals (Increased to 4 in the new Programme for Government but no timeline given). Seven years later, we have yet to turn the first sod. A top priority must be to build, equip and staff these hospitals. This is key to cutting waiting lists dramatically.
